Chess is smart, sexy, and vastly underappreciated. I've learned more about dates by the way they recklessly use their bishops and undervalue their knights than hours of conversation. You learn a lot about your companion--friend, lover, relative, mortal enemy--by watching him or her think. It also makes for portable entertainment, and outdoor chess is one of life's many treasures. I'd like to think it is the stylish thinking woman's game.
If you've never played or are a bit rusty, online games are as good an entree as any.
